This is a true story: When I was named valedictorian of my Dunmore High School class of 1971, my gift from the high school was a year’s subscription to Reader’s Digest.

Maybe I should have continued to read it. In June of 2012, the magazine chose “singlism” and “matrimania” as their Words of the Month. Check out the box in the lower right-hand side of the image. (Sorry it is not very clear.)

Reader’s Digest credits the Atlantic magazine with the words and never mentions my name or any of my writings, but still, I’ll take it.
